Among the responsibilities in my current position, I am required to do two things: check IDs for age and identity verification and interact with Doordash.
Recently, I asked for the ID from a Doordasher picking up a delivery order. He informed me that he left his ID in his car before coming into the store (which always requires an ID present), admitting he was being “lazy” in doing so.
This is a word that needs to be burned out of our being.
Never use that word to describe yourself.
You never use that word to explain why a task wasn’t completed, begun, or done properly.
You never use that word to explain why you are late or absent.
And you should absolutely never use that word to explain why you can’t or won’t follow an order, rule or law.
Never let complacency and arrogance guide you off a cliff. Take the time, respect the order and rules of the establishment you are trying to working with, put in the work, and do it right.
“Lazy” is the 4-letter way to suicide.
