When writers sit down to write, they try to begin with an epic piece in mind, with structure and a specific length or word count.
In today’s fast-paced, get-it-now world, who has the attention span or the patience for a lengthy pitch? Our tolerance for BS has dropped significantly since the turn of the century, and people don’t give a rat’s ass until you give them that one, magic reason why they should give a rat’s ass.
Make everything you say, do or write contribute to the presentation. If a word does not contribute, get rid of it. If part of your pitch doesn’t sway the audience one way or other, why is it there?
Keep it brief and to the point. “This is this and here’s why”.
